Hello there! I’m Isobel, originally from Bath, but now living in the seaside town of Bournemouth.
You’ll see from a lot of my work that I love hotels. When I was young I used to be a hotel receptionist. It was such an interesting job, with no two days the same and strange and wonderful characters (usually the staff rather than the guests!) It gave me a fascination for hotels - and the life behind them - that has never left me. My 100 Lost Hotel series was originally a personal project but became an exhibition at Bournemouth Library and featured on BBC South Today.
I have illustrated a children’s book for the series “Little People, Big Dreams” about the life of Charles Dickens, written by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara, and I’m currently working on a book project of my own.
I studied at the Arts University Bournemouth, graduating with a BA (hons) in Fine Art and I now work from a studio in my garden.
